How to Set Rack Coordinate Labels

Rack positions can be labelled with lettered rows and numbered columns (A1, A2, A3 across a row) or the other way round (A1, B1, C1 across a row). Setting this to your facility's convention keeps the grid readable and stops cage locations being misread.

    1. Open lab settings

Open Settings from your account menu and choose the Lab tab.

    2. Find the labelling option

      Scroll to Rack Coordinate Labels.

    3. Pick your convention

Choose Rows lettered, columns numbered or Columns lettered, rows numbered, whichever matches how your racks are physically labelled.

    4. Check the preview

A preview of a 3×3 rack shows how positions will read under the convention you picked.

    5. Save the setting

Click Save at the bottom of the lab settings. Rack views, cage pickers, cage detail, and cage cards all switch to the new labelling.
