How To Add A Mating
The Mating form in Moustra allows you to register a new mating setup by entering a start date, optional strain, mating tag, and housing cage. If no strain is selected, Moustra will automatically generate one based on the genotypes of the mating animals. This ensures proper tracking of breeding events and supports downstream litter and colony management.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Open the Mating page
Click Mating in the left sidebar.

Click Add mating
Click the blue "Add mating" button at the top.

Select a male animal
Use the checkbox to select exactly ONE male from the grid. Use filters to find age-appropriate males.

Select female animals
Select one or more females using checkboxes.

Enter mating information
Fill in Cage, Set Up Date, optional Mating Tag, and Comment.

Save the mating
Click Save to create the mating.
